Pre-made book covers

Not everyone can access professional book design services and, as someone who’s been doing this for a decade, I’m not oblivious to that. While I keep low-budget slots open in my day-to-day practice, I also offer a more productised version of this process from time-to-time, pulled from the eye-watering amount of random designs I have lying around based on recent market research. Theres a few frequently asked questions at the bottom of this page, but...

The most important question: Geoffrey, how does this work?
Once you find the cover you want, send its code through this pop-up contact form along with your title, author name, and any additional text (e.g. quotes, subtitles, etc).

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s with all the poorly-assembled Greek?
No shade to others who sell pre-made book covers, but if I have to see one more book by “Paige Turner” I’m going to weep.

What do I get for my money?
You get your chosen cover(s) in whatever format you need (jpg, png, PDF, etc), even if it’s a filetype you’ve just made up (this is a joke, please don’t ask me to put your cover in a filetype that doesn’t exist). You also get the license to use your cover however you want. When you buy your cover, we’ll have a discussion about your needs and get your information placed, and whatever other elements are required.

How much can these covers be edited?
There are pre-made covers and, as such, exist as finished products. Edits are mostly contained within the context of these designs; i.e. different imagery, fonts, and colours. You could pay to push them into a formal project (essentially skipping the initial steps in the process), but we have to be realistic about what edits are possible at these rates. That said, I am always willing to discuss your needs if edits stretch beyond that pre-made remit.

You say we can change imagery, but what if I have my own image?
If you have your own image, great! We will need to have a discussion about how to apply that image to the cover(s) you’ve chosen – that might include recolouring, edits, cropping, etc.

What if I try and get a cover and it’s already sold?
Covers are first-come-first-serve. On rare occassions, authors might try and buy the same cover. Whoever gets there first gets the cover in these instances. That said, there are ways to design around this issue and – again, this is a rare occurence – a conversation will ensue about getting the author who misses out a cover.
